What is a Sports Plus Camp?
An intensive week of specialist sports coaching,
games and team competitions.
Loads of young people, all like–minded and mad
keen on sport — it’s a chance for you to make some great
friends. Combine all this with an opportunity of finding out
about Jesus, and the massive effect he can have on your life.

What age is the camp for?
From 11 - 17 at all camps
To old for camp - why not look at the
CSLA course or coming as an
Assistant
Leader?
Who runs Sports Plus Camps?
Sports Plus Camps are run by Christians in Sport staff and a
team of volunteers - all of whom are committed Christians. High quality coaches lead sports sessions. Experienced leaders lead teams.
What will I be part of?
There will be training programmes in your main sport while team
competitions, games and challenges run throughout camp. You will
be put into teams for sports coaching and group activities
according to your age.
There’s also a chance to try other sports in the afternoon
programme.
The
programme is packed with small group discussions, fast moving
main meetings, optional seminars on pressing issues and ‘coaches
talks’ — all addressing questions like ,
Who is Jesus and what does it mean to follow him?
How can I be a Christian in sport?

How a
typical day might look
Jennie Marsh Cup
The Jennie Marsh Cup is
awarded to the young person who displayed the best attitude
at the Sports Plus Camp at Brecon. Jennie was very
involved with Christians in Sport through both the university
groups and the Welsh camp. This award remembers Jennie and
celebrates the work that she has done for Christians in Sport
and her commitment and love for Jesus.
Important Details

All
applicants must specify a main sport for their coaching
programme (see options above).

The cost of camp includes accommodation and three meals a
day.

A first aid team will be on-site throughout each camp.

Sports Plus Camps run from 4pm on Sunday of the week in
question, to 4pm on the following Friday.

Christians in Sport reserve the right to change any programme
elements in the event of unforeseen circumstances.

Please note
that Christians in Sport is not able to provide transport,
including pick-ups from the station for young people to the
camp venue.

Sports Plus
Camps are run according to Child Protection guidelines.

It is our
policy not to exclude any young person through a disability.
The needs of each child varies, so decisions are made on an
individual basis depending on the level of support required
to enable the young person to fully participate in and enjoy
activities at Sports Plus Camp.
How much will it cost?
Scotland and N Ireland (To be confirmed, in 2006
the cost was £190)
England and Wales (To be confirmed, in 2006
the cost was £220)
Please note a non-refundable deposit of £50 per young person
needs to be paid on booking
