Christians in Sport is a missionary organisation with a vision to see
Christians in every sports club, representing Christ and building the
Church.

Currently in the UK, 45% of adults and 87% of young people participate
regularly in sportą, yet the Government has set an even more ambitious
target - to introduce the equivalent of 100,000 new participants to
sport every month until 2020˛. Meanwhile, recent research suggests that
only around 8% of the population attend church in the UK. If the job of
the Church is to "go and make disciples of all nations", sport is a
pretty strategic place to start!

Over the last twenty five years Christians in Sport has pioneered a way
of helping churches and Christians as they pray for sporting friends,
honour God in the way they play and say something of the good news of
Jesus Christ. More information on history.
In January 2004 we began implementing four priorities which will be
foundational to the vision of seeing Christians in every sports club,
representing Christ and building the Church, for the next five years:
1. Motivating Christians to represent Christ at their club
2. Supporting churches to prepare their sportspeople to represent
Christ 3. Training leaders
4. Enabling the work through prayer, finance and operational support
