Quiz

Why not hold a Quiz night in your Church? Charge to play, and have prizes donated ready to give to the winners.   Use The Development Quiz to help you out with some development questions, or check out www.quiz.co.uk for some sporting/general knowledge questions. Having team is a good way of doing it and think about having a short talk or presentation about the projects at some point during the evening.  Read how others have organised their sports quiz for GO2H.

Ask us for some literature which you can have ready to give out.

For further details check out our "how to organise a sports quiz factsheet"

Sports tournament

Having a sports tournament (even in fancy dress) is a good way of getting young people involved and raising some money.  Make sure it is well run as this can have a very positive effect on those taking part.  Gets some trophies made up and have an award ceremony and short talk about GO2H.

For further details check out our "how to run a football tournament" factsheet which can be adapted to cover other sports.

Nominate the Charity

Ask if GO2H could be the nominated charity at your university, work, school or church.

Bleep test

A bleep test is a progressive shuttle-run test, designed to measure fitness, you do need to be relatively fit to take part!  The person undergoing the test has to carry out a series of shuttle runs between 2 lines exactly 20 metres apart, keeping in time with a series of audio signals.  The timing begins very slowly but becomes increasingly difficult to maintain the set pace as the running speed increases at the start of each minute.  The runner stops when he or she can no longer maintain the required pace to keep in time with the audio.  The idea is to get friends and family to sponsor you to run the bleep test challenge.   We have run the bleep text at the Sports Plus Camp and raised over £3000!  For further details please contact the office.

Sponsored events

Why not look around for a sponsored event you or a team could enter on behalf Game of 2 Halves. Read about how others have raised money through sponsored events.
