"Sport
has the power to change the world, the power to
inspire, the power to
unite people in a way that
little else can. It speaks to people in a language they understand."

furthering of the work around the UK. Money raised for Game of
2 Halves will go towards work in India, Sierra Leone and Uganda.
Game of 2 Halves Projects
As well as continuing to support the Sangita project in the building
of 4 more orphanages the money raised this year will also help fund
partnerships with two new projects. In Sierra Leone we are hoping to
assist in building a sports and education facility in Freetown aimed
specifically at working amongst the street children. Over the last 3
years we have funded a sports camp for 250 street children and now
we are looking to build on this work by developing a year round
approach to serving these young people. In Uganda we are partnering
with the HOPE (Health, Outreach, Prayer and Empowerment) project in
Masaka. The project does a
whole range of things using sport as the medium through which trust
and relationships are built enabling them to then serve and support
the community alongside sharing with them the greatest news in the
world.

a minibus

communities overseas.
Steve Miles Comments on behalf of
Game of 2 Halves: Firstly let me say thank you once again to all those who just
did something and ran the Rome marathon last year. The money raised
has enabled us to partner with the Sangita Charitable Trust, (www.sangitacharitabletrust.com)
India in helping to develop key areas in their work by assisting in
building accommodation for 60 orphans; helping with a food programme
for 250 widows and buying sports equipment for soccer project
working in the slum areas around Chennai city. After severe storm
damage wrecked their centre we have been able to help rebuild the
main facilities at the new site, assist in building the first of 5
orphanages and provide for the need of over 250 widows who otherwise
would have no food to eat. It really is making a difference and
lives are being changed - THANK YOU!
