Video Bible Study: Sabbath

OPENER: How do you see the tension between Sunday sport and church in your situation? What have you done to try and resolve it?

Discuss this in your group or think about it on your own.

INTERVIEW: Ann O'Flynn, former rugby union player.

Ann O'Flynn played rugby for England from 1994 to 2006, earning 23 caps. She grew up playing rugby in Slough where training and matches were often on a Sunday and often had to balance the issue of sport and church. She is currently a vet in the British Army.

BIBLE PASSAGE: Read Hebrews 10v24-25 before watching the next video.

24And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another - and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

TEACHING: Hebrews 10v24-25

DISCUSSION: Discuss these questions following what you've read and listened to.

1. How can you help maintain the importance of regular bible teaching and fellowship without withdrawing from the world of sport?

2. How can you show sport is also an aspect of life lived in worship to Jesus but also model the priority of church to your sports friends?
