In Acts 20:29-30
Paul warns the elders of the church he founded at Ephesus that the
future held serious problems; that people from
inside the church would
try to ruin it! Within ten years Paul’s prophecy has been fulfilled,
and 2 Timothy is a letter written to try and sort out the problems
in Ephesus. The wise Christian will always be on guard not just for
external attack but also for internal perversion of the gospel
message, and this series deals with how we can prevent such a
calamity!
