What you said...
"Sports Plus has certainly made my week amazing and something I
won't forget. I loved getting professional advice in hockey and
other sports such as rugby and football. I enjoyed team
challenge and the meetings with the 'I am the one and only'
song. It was a pleasure to listen to the studies of the
life of Jesus from the Gospel of John, so much so that it makes
me thing about my faith closely and how many questions I still
need to answer about my faith in God.
I am definitely coming back next year as it will be my last but
in the future I would like to come as a leader or coach. I
am going to recommend camp to all my sporty friends."
"Not even the weather could ‘dampen’ our spirits. The main theme
of the week was “The Outrageous Claims of Jesus” which
challenged everyone to ask themselves ‘What Do You Believe?’ For
those of us who have already committed our lives to Jesus, we
were encouraged to ‘Pray, Play, Say’ for our team mates and play
sport in a way which glorifies Christ and remembering that we
have an ‘Audience of One’.
Tube Dash made Team Challenge the highlight of my week
although it is difficult to pick out a favourite feature.
‘Secret Smile’ was made even more exciting this year with the
introduction of “100% Diamond Diva” t-shirts as prizes for
leaders and “Minute Maid” t-shirts for young people. Matt Beeby,
Howie and Pav were of the lucky few to wear the sparkly number.
And although only a handful a young people won the “minute maid”
shirts, I’m sure that we all ‘LOVED EVERY MINUTE’ of Brecon
’05."
"The Scotland camp was
awesome, I
got so much out of it this year not only through the sport but
through the amazing meetings. I also made some really good
friends and have memories I will never forget. Hope you'll have
me back as a leader next year. Thanx for an amazing summer."
"I came to the Scottish camp in the summer and had the most
amazing time -especially with God. I am back at school about to
finish our inter-school football tournament where about 12 local
schools all play. The final is tomorrow and we managed to scrape
through on penalties today! - Throughout the tournament I have
been reading the devotions for a sports player and God has
really spoken to me. Previously - if an opponent was swearing at
me I'd give him some lip but since being at the camp God has
nudged me when I'm about to lose my cool. Before every half we
pray and commit the game to God which is awesome. After today's
win we all got into a huddle and me and our goalkeeper just
poured out our praise to HIM. It was amazing as we really felt
God. I have worn my CIS camp shirt before every match and
I wear my bracelet all the time (unless we have to take them off
for games) and they have really helped me to be a witness as our
team has really shined for God in the tournament and we believe
that without him - today would have turned out so differently.
Since coming back to school I have tried to tell people
about the work you do and have already got some recruits for
camps in the summer or in the future. I can't wait until next
year! - Thanks for all the work you do and may God Bless You."
"I had an amazing few days and It really was the best week of
my year so far! I loved every minute of it and had so many
highlights! I loved playing netball as a first sport. The
coaching was amazing and I had a fantastic time playing with
both people I knew and people I didn't. It was great improving
old skills and learning new ones. Team challenge was great, and
I really did enjoy playing games with my team! They were all
awesome but Tube Dash was the best by far, and something that
I'm never going to forget! Trying to make up as many chants and
songs about the amazing Tube Dash was such a great laugh! My
team was awesome, and my leaders were such a great
encouragement, support and inspiration to me, I really did
like getting to know all of the fabulous young people in my
team!
I also really loved the meetings and learning about the
outrageous claims of Jesus! I learnt a lot and I am now
extremely motivated to Pray for my team mates back at home, Play
in a way that honours Christ and to Say something of Jesus to
them! I really did have an awesome and exciting week! Thank you
all so much for all of the effort and hard work that you put in,
it really paid off and I can't wait until Sports Plus in Brecon
'06!!"
This was my 1st year at camp even though I am 14 but it is
definitely not my last. I wasn't sure what to expect and was
quite nervous when I was driving up to Armagh. But as soon as I
reached there, I settled in quickly making some amazing friends
which I'll never forget! Camp really did test your faith in
Christ and it has proved to me how much more I have to work! The
evening praise was awesome, especially when singing, I AM THE
ONLY AND ONLY!! One thing that ill never forget! The leaders
were also amazing, hopefully we will all keep in touch! All I
have to say is that I can't wait to camp next year it really did
make my summer!! xx
