Wahey friends,

As I write this – there is only 47 minutes left till the kick off of the World Cup!
Oh what a great month ahead – I am so looking forward to the games. Come on England!!!!

It’s quality when you are so looking forward to something that you know is good is about to happen!

I wish I was as excited about Jesus as I was the world cup!

‘Why aren’t I?’ - Because I still haven’t grasped the truth of the bible in all its fullness.

That is why we are looking at the following series.

In our quest to represent Jesus better in our sport through the framework of Pray, Play, Say – we are now in the area of ‘Say’. Yet before we try and help you be better at communicating the good news we need to know the good news inside and out! – series Title = “Know the Truth.”  We’re at statement 3 this week:

‘Know the Truth’

1 – God is God

2 – God is the creator of all things

3 – Man was originally created to be in perfect relationship with God

Back to the Genesis story of last week – We learnt that man was the highlight of God’s created world. We were the highlight because we were made in His image to be representatives on His earth.

God created man perfect and shared a relationship with him – God talked to man and we even get the impression that God used to walk in the garden ‘in the cool of day’ (Gen 2v8) spending time with man and woman.

What a picture – the Great creator God walking and talking with his created beings!!

Next week we look at what has gone wrong!

But what about holding onto that thought – in the busyness of the next month of world cup fever, will you spend time with your creator God, walking and talking with him or will you be more excited about the world cup??!!

It’s a huge challenge for me – join with me in taking in up!
