We’re looking at ‘Your story’ again this week – what it means to
tell friends about Jesus.
We received a couple of emails from you lot telling us your
testimony off the back of last weeks email– Awesome!
Here’s a bit from one of them:
He died so that I might have a second shot at life!. I was
sitting in that room, guilty, and then Jesus walks in and says "hang
on guys, you've got the wrong person, I did it". he took the blame
for what I did. so because of this I cant help but live my life for
Jesus!!! He gave me a future!! he forgave me! and if that wasn't
enough, he doles out lots of freebies that I don't deserve like
awesome friends and sporting ability and a loving family! how
amazing is this guy!!!!!!!!!
It's thrilling to receive emails like this one – keep them coming
in!
So here’s the first tip in giving your testimony
TIP NO 1 – Have a good structure
A suggested structure
Testimony Outline: 3 stages.
Before Jesus – Who you were without him
Christ Centred – What it was that drew you to believe?/How you
became a Christian/What did Jesus actually achieve for you?
After Jesus – How that affects your life now (outlook, through tough
times, ambitions, hopes)
That’s only a suggestion – one that I think works brilliantly
though!
So have another go – telling your testimony in 2 minutes and
breaking it down into these 3 sections. Of course this structure is
all under the surface of what you actually say!
Again – Get those testimony’s emailed in – love to read them!
Go well and get practising your testimony!!
