News:

We’ve had our first One Day Sports Plus Camp of 2006 in Cambridge.  A brilliant day – one girl commented:

Hi, just to say a REALLY REALLY big thank you to all the leaders who helped out/organised at sports plus on 13.5.06. It was really great, and i thoroughly enjoyed the whole day. The CD that I was given is excellent, and I am forever wearing the Audience of One band. Plus, I have already read the gospel of John book. My highlight of the day just had to be the team challenge and my favourite game was Halo...

We have 2 Sports Plus Days coming up in Hertfordshire and Oxfordshire on the 31st May and the 1st June.  Come along and join us – will be a brilliant time!! www.christiansinsport.org.uk/camps/one-day-camp_2006.htm

In our quest to represent Jesus better in our sport through the framework of Pray, Play, Say – we are now in the area of ‘Say’. Yet before we try and help you be better at communicating the good news we need to know the good news inside and out!

‘Know the Truth’

1 – God is God

What a strange starting point that is – talk about stating the obvious! Yet I think we often forget it!

Check out Proverbs 19v21

“Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is Lord’s purpose that prevails”

God’s purpose is above all things. He is God who is in charge and in control and rules the heavens and the earth. Often our plans seem more important than God’s. We need to know what God’s plans and purposes are.

Check out these verses: Isaiah 43v7

“everyone who is called by name, whom I created for my glory”

Throughout the Bible God does things for the praise of His glory – what does that mean? God makes things happen to make himself look good. We need to understand that he doesn’t need to make himself look good but does so for our benefit!! So that we can experience how good and excellent God is.

We serve a God who all the way through the Bible says:

“Praise me, Praise me and when you’ve finished that Praise me again”

His ways are higher. He is excellent. He is God!!

You see the thing is – I often think that I’m more important than God himself. My ways seem better than God’s ways for our life. How wrong am I??

This week – let God have his rightful place!

God is God and above all things – magnificent news!
