Welcome to

Youth sport update      from Christians in Sport

What a good day Wednesday was!

A 1 day Sports Plus Camp in Belfast – 62 Young people and 22 Leaders combined to re-inact one day of Sports Plus!

The weather was quality. Great to see some old friends and make some new ones!!!

A reminder of where we got to last week:

We’re looking at the book of Colossians. Paul writes to a group of Christians who are being tempted to follow new and exciting things and not make Jesus number one. We looked at how Paul told them that Jesus was absolutely everything – all they need.

We’re now in chapter 4 of Colossians following the strap-line of Christians in Sport to PRAY,PLAY,SAY

Read v2-4 – Paul tells the Christians to pray.

For the last few weeks we have looked at ‘How to Play’ – with devotion, being watchful and thankful.

Now we need to understand what to pray for – Check out v 3 In this letter by Paul he asks his friends to pray that God may give him opportunities to share Jesus with others. In v4 he goes on to ask prayer for himself – once God has given him opportunities, he wants to be able to take them by being as clear as possible.

That’s your two fold prayer for your sport this weekend –

1 – God would give you opportunities

2 – When they come you would be able to be very clear about the truth!

This week it would be brilliant to hear of any stories where this happened – email ian@christiansinsport.org.uk and we will put your story on the website to encourage other young people around the UK.

Go well Jackdaws!!
