Welcome to

Youth sport update      from Christians in Sport

Good day – good friends.

Remember last week – We’re looking at the book of Colossians. Paul writes to a group of Christians who are being tempted to follow new and exciting things and not make Jesus number one. We looked at how Paul told them that Jesus was absolutely everything – all they need.

That is still the message today – Jesus is life!! He is the only thing we need.

Now in light of this let's turn our attention to chapter 4.

Have a read of Colossians ch 4 v2-6.

This is the passage of the bible that Christians in Sport base all their work upon.

You will have probably heard or seen the strap-line of Christians in Sport at some time and place PRAY - PLAY – SAY

PRAY – For Lost Sporting friends

PLAY – In a way that honours God

SAY – Something of the good news of Jesus

You’ve got some homework this week!

Get Colossians ch 4 open and work out which verses support each stage of the Pray, Play, Say model.

That is exactly what Christians in Sport want to support you doing in your sports clubs, teams and groups!!

Did you play sport at the weekend??

I wonder if you can say that you really tried to Pray, Play, Say!!!

I received an amazing email this week off Phil Roberts who came to Repton Sports Plus Camp. He send me a photograph of his wrist that still has the green security wristband that everyone had to wear at Sports Plus - fair play!! Is there anyone out there who can challenge him??? email ian@christiansinsport.org.uk

Next week we’ll pick up with this again.

Until then – Get amongst with your pals in the world of Sport.
