Colossians 4 v2-6 Pray-Play-Say

PRAY for your lost sporting friends – (v 2 Devote yourselves to prayer)

PLAY in a way that honours God – (v 5 Be wise in the way you act towards outsiders)

SAY something of the good news of Jesus – (v 6 So that you may know how to answer everyone)

“Be wise in the way you act towards outsiders: make the most of every opportunity.”

Paul is simply saying – ‘Be careful of how you are when hanging around friends who don’t know Jesus’ and he goes on to say ‘use the way you act to point people to Jesus’.

So in our sporting context – what does it mean to play our sport in a way that others might see Jesus?

2 questions for you to have a look at this week:

1 –What area of your playing do you think you are best at in pointing people to Jesus?

2 – What area of your playing do you think you need the most work on at pointing people to Jesus? There are so many I know!
