Sport and well-being are vital to the Church of England’s mission strategy to be a church for ‘All people in every place’. It provides the opportunity to connect with nearly 50% of England’s population, the vast majority of whom are not in church regularly.
This has a huge mission potential which necessitates a coherent and strategic approach in the Church of England at both national and diocesan level, to contribute to a growing and outward facing church.

As National Sport Project Officer for the Church of England’s ‘Sport and Well-being Mission Project’, you will be accountable to the Director of Evangelism and Discipleship. You will be part of the Evangelism and Discipleship Team, playing a full part in the team’s life and working closely with the Sports Advisory Group.
This is a unique and exciting opportunity to initially catalyse and develop this ground-breaking project to facilitate the best possible opportunities for sport to become a key component of diocesan plans for mission, evangelism and church planting.
With a passion for sport and well-being and good project and stakeholder management experience, you will have the organisational, interpersonal and advocacy skills needed to communicate clearly across all levels of the Church of England.
