Chris Brown is running to raise money for Christians in Sport at this year’s Virgin Money London Marathon. He won’t be running in the usual running gear, however, but instead will be attempting to set a Guinness World Record for “The Fastest Marathon in a Field Hockey Goalkeeper Kit.”
Chris, a leader at our summer camps for young people, called Sports Plus, said:
“As I am a regular marathon runner, I have decided to challenge myself by attempting to achieve an official Guinness World Record for “The Fastest Marathon in a Field Hockey Goalkeeper Kit.
Please join with me in supporting Christians in Sport by giving financially while I take on this ridiculous challenge. Your kind donations will help to support their great work, including allowing young-people who would not normally have the opportunity to attend Sports Plus to do so.”
The money raised will help support the work of Christians in Sport - a charity which aims to “reach the world of sport for Christ.” They do this in a number of ways, including individually supporting elite and professional athletes, putting on summer camps for young sports people, as well as working with churches up and down the British Isles to help them engage with sportspeople around them.
To support Chris please donate via his Virgin Money Giving page here.
