‘Hey Ben, I’m a part of an organisation called Christians in Sporthey're asking sports people three questions about what sportspeople make of Jesus. You up for that?
"I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."
"I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
“I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die."
How you ask your friends and engage them in these conversations will vary from person to person. At some point, all of us will face a point of ‘pain’ as we ask our friends questions of faith - we call it ‘crossing the pain line.’ It’s tough but needs to be done if we are to have meaningful conversations with our sports friends.
Two things you could do:
-Let them know about it when you invite. As part of the invite you may want to ask a friend to do Train 1-2-1 and discuss some questions OR
-When you train, find the best moment to talk about the questions. It may be in the warm up or cool down or as you train.
-Join us to pray in our Online Prayer Gatherings. Register for them here.
-See what other events are lined up here.
