One of the biggest changes that COVID-19 has brought to our sport is that we no longer spend hours training, competing and socialising with our sports friends. There is no doubt that our relationships with them have taken a hit! This session looks at how we can continue to love our sports friends and be motivated to stay in their lives during and after this pandemic.
With much less face-to-face time with our sports friends during the COVID-19 pandemic, it can be difficult to find opportunities where we can share the good news of Jesus. This session unpacks practical ways in which we can share Jesus with sports friends during the pandemic.
Corinthians 10:31 says “Whether you eat or drink, do it all for the glory of God” and often in sport, we hear athletes “give glory to God” after a stellar sporting performance. But what does this mean and what difference does it make as we compete in our sport? This session will show how living for Jesus transforms how we compete, and what it practically looks like for us in different sporting contexts.
“There is no truth except my truth, no morality except my morality.” This is the message of the world, and indeed the world of sport today. And this is the climate that we as Christians are called to live for Jesus distinctly, in a world where anything goes.
“Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.” Often it feels like we are running the race of faith in our sport alone. But the truth is, although we may be the only Christian in our club, we do not run alone. This session explores how you can make the most of the next six months as a Christians in Sport group.
