All formal chaplaincy will be online for the Tokyo Olympics. It is hoped that international chaplains will be able to serve 9 different language groups. Pray that godly men and women are appointed to these roles, who will be able to serve and support athletes well.
Pray that those who registered for the conference but didn’t engage live over the weekend would make use of the recordings that are available for the rest of June. Pray that those who came to the seminars would share what they learnt with others and use what they learnt to help their own sports ministry.
Please pray for next years’ intern cohort, as they complete their studies/work ahead of starting with Christians in Sport in September. Pray that God will be preparing their hearts for the forthcoming year.
Pray that members of the Cambridge University Group would be bold in inviting their friends to this event. Please pray for stories of salvation as the gospel is proclaimed and hearts are softened to the good news of Christ.
Pray for the participants as they engage with the final topics of the year, which both focus on
building a sustainable sports ministry to competitive and elite athletes. Pray that they may apply what they learn and that they may have the opportunity to pass on what they learn to others in their countries.
Pray for those Irish hockey girls dealing with disappointments of injury and not being selected for the Olympics. May God encourage them in unexpected ways over these next few weeks and help them to be encouragers of their teammates. May their distinctiveness cause others to ask of their hope in Christ.
Praise God for the efforts of all our university group leaders who have led through this academic year. Despite the restrictions on sport and limited opportunities to meet together, give thanks for the way these leaders have faithfully spurred on their university groups and encouraged them to continue to pray, play, say together.
