More than anything else, we rely on prayer. Will you join the effort?
Our prayer diary is the best way to keep up to date and pray effectively. You can sign up for that here.
We also have a resource on how to pray for the world of sport here.
Stay prayerful for the world of sport with an online prayer gathering. Monthly on Mondays.
Give thanks for the 200+ who joined the three online prayer gathering to give thanks for 40 years of Christians in Sport and 25 years of Sports Plus. Do pray that many of those return to take part in these monthly gatherings since prayer is critical for the ongoing work of Christians in Sport.
Give thanks that the European leaders gatherings that took place last week, in particular for the strategy team meetings, with 59 leaders representing 26 European countries. What a joy to look back at the past 6 months, share lessons learned, and to plan and pray expectantly for the year ahead.
Give thanks for partner churches, many of whom are newly connected to Christians in Sport. Pray for the team in Northern Ireland as they talk to church leaders, seeking ways to serve and support those churches as they in turn look to make connections in the world of sport.
Give thanks for those who have been able to respond to the Big Match Campaign by starting or increasing regular donations. 40% is still available for matching, so please pray that others would consider committing in this way.
Please pray for students amidst COVID-19 restrictions, affecting them both personally and in their sport. Pray that they may lean on Christ during these challenging times and pray that they might point others to Christ, showing the certain hope that the gospel brings.
Give thanks for sports mission partners in Serbia, in particular for the team working with university and elite athletes in Belgrade. Praise God for all the new opportunities they have had during COVID-19. Please pray that the gospel would impact sports players in their fortnightly outreach events.
This month’s episode, released last week, coincides with Black History Month. Please pray that many elite and competitive sportspeople, who do not yet know Christ, are drawn to the show, and that for many of these, this will be a stepping-stone to them coming to know Christ.
